The #20for20 Art Challenge is a Challenge designed to help artists of all skill levels build a consistent creative practice. Participants commit to 20 minutes of art a day for 20 days, working with materials and subjects that spark their imagination. To help them succeed, we provide a Reference Starter Pack filled with curated, paintable photos—this is where you come in!
Why Sponsor the Challenge?
There is no payment as part of being a Photo Sponsor.

Free Entry into a Challenge: Get entry into a 20for20 Challenge for free or gift your spot to a fellow artist. (Good up to a year from date of issue.)
Acknowledgment & Links: Your name and a clickable link to your website or social media will be featured in the Reference Starter Pack sent to all participants.
Social Media Shoutouts: We’ll celebrate your contribution through shout outs on the Learn to Paint Podcast social media account.
Creative Impact: Your photos will inspire countless artworks, helping artists build their and explore their creativity.
It’s pretty amazing to see what a group of artists can do with your image. Maybe you’re a fellow painter and want to be a part of inspiring an amazing community. Maybe you’re a teacher looking to inspire artists and get in front of students.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for high-quality, paintable photos that spark inspiration and work well across various artistic mediums (watercolor, acrylic, oil, and more).
These don’t need to be professional photos. Photos taken with your phone on vacation are great candidates. But they do need to be paintable meaning they are clear, level, and have good lighting. We’re looking for the following subjects and all must be family friendly:
Landscapes
Still life arrangements
Florals
Architecture
Animals
Portraits & People (person must be you or from a public space)
Any visually interesting or paintable subject
Photos should be provided in png or jpg at least 1000 pixels on shortest side.
How It Works
Submit Your Photos: Fill out our submission form and upload your images. If your photos are chosen, you’ll hear back before the next Challenge where the photo will be used. You’ll learn the specific date your photo will be highlighted.
Copyright Retention: You retain the copyright to your photos while granting me (the organizer) and Challenge participants the rights to use them for reference and artistic creations (personal and professional) both in the Challenge and beyond. Please note: Participants will paint or draw images and will sometimes share the images online as part of their post.
Inspire Creativity: Artists may interpret and use your photos in countless ways, including selling finished artworks.
How Your Photo Will Be Used?
Once your photo is accepted, it will be organized into the Reference Starter Pack. It will be shared as the original format (or close to it) and then shared in cropped, gridded, and black and white versions.
It will be available to participants inside the Reference Starter Pack and also as a jpg download. Your name will be in the file name. Your website and social media handles will be listed in the Photo Sponsor Thank You sections of the Challenge.
